What is permanent jewellery?
Permanent jewellery is one of the hottest new trends, which has swept America and is now being embraced across the pond here in the UK. The Sterling Silver or Gold jewellery is sized specifically for each customer and welded together, so there are no fastenings and the seamless piece can be worn for years without removing it.
Permanent jewellery is perfect as a gift, to celebrate your friendships with matching jewellery, or even just for yourself.
-
Is permanent jewellery safe?
Yes! Although the term ‘welding’ can sound scary, we use a professional machine which has been specifically designed for spot welding permanent jewellery.
We weld together the two ends of your bracelet, the spark does not reach high temperatures however we do add a protective patch between your skin and the jewellery for your extra peace of mind.
-
Will my jewellery tarnish?
Our jewellery is made from high quality 925 Sterling Silver and 14k Gold, the perfect materials for permanent jewellery as they are robust enough for daily wear.
All silver can discolour over time due to oils, sweat, perfumes, oxygen, etc, and so whilst we can’t say your jewellery won’t tarnish we can advise that this is normal with all silver, even Tiffany, and can be easily cleaned with a soft toothbrush and some fairy liquid.
Our gold will not tarnish but will still need to be cleaned regularly to avoid any build up of dirt and sweat.
-
What if I need to remove my jewellery?
Permanent Jewellery is designed to be worn all of the time and doesn’t need to be removed for things like showering or airport security.
However, if you do need to remove it, for example to undergo an MRI scan, simply cut your jewellery at the weld ring with a sharp pair of scissors, keep it safe to one side, and we can reattach it for a £15 fee.
-
Is permanent jewellery suitable for everyone?
Mostly yes. However, anyone with a pacemaker or metal allergy sadly won’t be able to have the service.
-
Is there a minimum age for welded jewellery?
Yes, the minimum age is 13. Anyone under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult.
-
Can I walk in for an appointment?
Appointments need to be pre-booked using our booking site (which you can find here). The only exception to this will be pop-up events held away from the studio, which will be clearly advertised.
We would advise booking early to avoid disappointment, especially if you have a group larger than two.
For bookings of over 4 people, if you are unable to book back to back slots for the required amount of people on our booking site, please enquire via email at: hello@sundaystudio.uk and we’ll be happy to help.
-
Can I pre-book my jewellery?
Although we have a range of options to choose from so you will definitely find something to suit your style, we know what it’s like to spot something online, fall in love with it and then nothing else will do!
Whilst we try to keep all of our jewellery stocked at all times, occasionally there will be a delay with our suppliers. If you have your eye on a specific chain or charm, please call or message to check we have it in stock to avoid disappointment on the day.
-
Is my deposit refundable?
A £20 deposit per person is required to secure your appointment, which will be deducted from your final bill on the day of service.
Deposits are transferable where a minimum of 48 hours notice is given when cancelling or rescheduling. If less than 48 hours notice is given, your deposit will be lost and a new one will be needed to rebook.
Please note there are different payment terms and deposits for on location bridal, events and corporate bookings. To enquire please email: hello@sundaystudio.uk
